Yes. This program works especially well with steel and most fiberglass doors.
To determine if your door is steel, simply place a refrigerator magnet on it. If it sticks, you have a steel door. If the magnet does not stick, measure the center panels of your door from outside edge of the left panel to the outside edge of the right panel. If the measurement is 23″ or less, you probably have a fiberglass door.
Wood doors with square panels or carvings or some type of glass in it require some modification to the door slab before glass can be installed. Extra materials and labor are required.
All of our glass inserts are at least two and most have three panes of glass. The outside two panes are tempered safety glass similar to a car windshield, just thinner. This strengthens the glass making it harder to break. While they can be broken, the effort needed to break out one of these glass inserts exceeds the time and noise levels most crooks are willing to risk their time on.
The manufacturers of decorative glass understand your concerns, and have designed the glass to have a variety of privacy levels to fit your desired look and style.
While there are varying degrees of obscurity, even clear glass has some design features that obscures the vision during the day. The person walking down the sidewalk, or mowing the lawn usually cannot see through the glass with enough clarity to determine if anyone is even home.
If you are concerned about people seeing in at night we suggest you install a porch light or motion detector with light on your outside porch to turn the light on when people approach your front door. This will back light the outside, and make the glass even more difficult to see through, especially at night. We also offer a few styles that are very private and offer light, but no true vision through the glass.
Absolutely. All of our clear, decorative door glass and blinds-between-the-glass now hold a twenty year product warranty from the manufacturer and our labor is covered for the first year.
We think it is important to note that with our warranty it is not prorated as with some. If your glass or frame fails anytime within the twenty-year period, our manufacturers will replace the glass or frame at no charge to you (with the exception of a change out labor fee after the first year).
Additionally, our glass frames are a high performance design that does not require painting, but can be painted if desired. Beware of those that require the frame to be painted and only a light color, as they may be made of lower quality material.
Lead times will vary some with each individual order. Some glass styles are in stock and some have to be special ordered by our suppliers. It is important to remember here at Dream Doors & Windows we have the ability to build and install custom doors as quickly as anyone in the industry if not faster.
One thing we have learned with our over 40 years of experience is to do our best to under promise and over deliver for our customers. We will always do our best to provide an accurate and updated time range at the time of ordering. If you have any specific question on lead times please contact our showroom at 904-880-7778.
If you are a realtor serving the northeast Florida market, we may be able to help you increase your customer’s market appeal by increasing the home’s curb appeal. It’s no secret that a decorative entryway can add 6% or more to the perceived value of a home, but what may not be known is some of the affordable ways to upgrade a home entryway at the fraction of the cost of a whole new door.
Most new entry door projects have a cost starting around four thousand dollars for a single door unit. Dream Doors & Windows may be able to add decorative glass to your customer’s existing door, adding huge market appeal, curb appeal and value. This can also be used as an option for a buyer who is not wild about the existing front door, but hesitant to purchase a whole new door.
If you would like to offer your customers the option of having a high-quality Dream Door or glass insert installed into their existing home, call our showroom 904-880-7778 or email us at sales@dreamdoors.com.
